Besides lectures, permanent exhibitions and workshops there were also many complementary events organized for better recognition of Idrija lace in Slovenia and abroad. On Saturday and Sunday there were several lacemaking demonstrations as well as the handicrafts and lacemaking tools fair. There were also a miner's lamps exhibition, a competition in mining skills, lacemaking workshops and the exhibition of medicinal plants.

This year’s festival was characterized by two jubilees: 10th anniversary of the Society of Idrija lace and bobbin lacemakers and 10th anniversary of cooperation with the Department of Textiles, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, of the University of Ljubljana. Both anniversaries are important for the preservation of the tradition of lace making while at the same time collaboration brings fresh ideas and is important for the development of modern Idrija lace.
